Fitness & Accessibility
Standard rail travel - carriages have steps and no wheelchair access. Journey takes approximately 6-7 hours depending on delays, which are common on this route. Please advise us in advance of any mobility concerns.

Please do not lean out of doors or windows while the train is moving, and be mindful of your belongings - this is a popular route and carriages can get crowded.

Your main luggage travels separately by private vehicle directly to your destination, so you only need to carry a small daypack on the train.
Yes, this experience is commonly added into our Ella, 1-week, 2-week, or 3-week itineraries in place of a road transfer between Nuwara Eliya/Kandy and Ella.

- Any non-refundable third-party costs already committed (hotels, permits, transport, tickets) will be deducted from refund amount.
